About Us

The Lake Beauty Association is made up of individuals and families living on and around the lake. Anyone can be a member as long as they pay their annual dues. One membership covers your household.

The Lake Association executive board includes the President, Vice-President and Secretary/Treasurer. These are typically 3-year term positions and elections are held during the August annual meeting. In addition, Associate Board Members are also elected during the annual meeting. The Associate Board Members attend the quarterly board meetings and help with various projects throughout the year. All board positions are volunteer and all members pay an annual membership that’s due each August at or around the annual meeting.

The Lake Association is a strong advocate for members and non-members. We value our lake, the people who live here and all of those who come to visit.

The organization’s mission statement summarizes our purpose which is, the Lake Beauty Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting, preserving and enhancing the quality of the environment and life experiences in and around our area.

It Takes All Of Us To Build a Strong Lake Association

Meet Your Lake Board

Kathy Boeckman

President

My husband and I have been living on Lake Beauty the last 16 years. We have three amazing children and 6 precious grandchildren. I have always dreamed of living on a Minnesota lake. Not only has my dream come true, but I am surrounded with fun, caring neighbors. It is my privilege to serve as the president of the Lake Beauty Association where members make life on the lake better.

Missy and Mike Aaker

Co-Vice President

We purchased a lot on Lake Beauty in 2018, fulfilling a lifelong dream for both of us. The fact that our dream was realized on Lake Beauty makes it even better. To explain, Mike and our kids grew up spending a week at the Bible camp each summer, and later, our son was on staff at LBBC for four more summers. Likewise, our family spent the 4th of July along the shores of Lake Beauty while our kids were growing up.

We hope to continue those traditions with our son and daughter, their spouses, and our five grandchildren. There is nothing better than a fresh cup of morning coffee on the dock, the soothing call of the loons around the lake, the brilliant color of a summer sunset, and of course, a peaceful campfire to punctuate the end of a perfect day.

Quentin and Christy Garlets

Co-Secretary/Treasurer

This will be our 5th summer enjoying the peace and wonders of Lake Beauty. When we are not at the lake, Christy works as a Nurse in Waconia and Quentin is a Business Architect for Life Time. We are the proud parents of 2 young men. The oldest is working on his Mechanical Engineering degree at Michigan Tech and our youngest will graduate this spring from Waconia High School before heading off in the Air Force.

We are at the lake many weekends and enjoy fishing, quiet afternoons reading, and sipping wine by the firepit. We also enjoy watching the wildlife and of course the northern lights! We encourage visitors from our fellow lake friends.

I grew up about eight miles away from the lake on the family farm.  Some of my earliest memories were fishing on the lake with my family.  My dad would rent a pontoon from someone on the west side of the lake.  Later in life, Lake Beauty became my favorite bass fishing lake.  I moved to the lake about 12yrs ago.  I have continued to make memories with my family now.  I am still getting to know my neighbors but I like what the association does for the lake.  I look forward to help the association keep the lake clean and fun for all.

I have served at Lake Beauty Bible Camp since 2019 and have been the Executive Director since the start of 2023. I grew up in southwest Michigan, twenty miles from Lake Michigan, spending most summers with my family. My wife Jenna, originally from Minnesota, and I have three boys (7, 5, 3) who you may see out on their bikes. We love hearing the loon calls out on the water and seeing the beautiful fall foliage out over the lake. I have grown an affinity for Beauty Lake, not just because LBBC holds the most shoreline but because of the community of people that live around here and come together.
